A long-awaited invaluable scholarship: "Ambedkar's Political Philosophy: A Grammar of Public Life from the Social Margins" by Valerian Rodrigues, OUP. It was difficult for UC mainstream academics elites to accept Ambedkar; now, Ambedkar is inevitable to academics and politics.

Incredible data journalism. This Article shows exactly what "algorithmic wage theft" looks like. We need more than the minimum wage & data transparency: we need new laws of work to prevent algorithmic wage discrimination. bloomberg.com/graphics/2024-…

I prepared and defended my master's thesis amidst the sounds of bombing and terror during the Gaza war, to send a message to the world that we in Gaza deserve life and are waiting for the sun of freedom. We are waiting for the world to see us 💔.

Reading (again and again) Linda Tuhiwai Smith’s Decolonizing Methodologies for my grad class. It never gets old in a settler colonial and genocidal world. It should be a must read for every grad program.

My mother has a similar story from her childhood in the 50s. Not the genocide of today, but with severe crop and aid shortages, Gaza was saved by an abundance of sardines that year. The sea, like the land, is ours and it knows its family and caretakers.

Wrote about this a while back: a core function of elite higher education is to acculturate future elites into the belief that you can simultaneously be a Good Person With Good Liberal Opinions and also work in predatory industries that ruin other peoples lives and/or the country.
