- In past 20yr, heat related deaths have increased in 94% of European regions

Age UK did some research on this a few years back and found older people didn’t recognise the term ‘frail’ & tended to use ‘slowing down’ or ‘getting on a bit’. Changing language has been a focus in our discharge Frontrunner work esp. re. Dementia and also performance language

Imaging being a patient that want to go home and hears that they failed. What would that do to your confidence? This is often said in earshot of the patient. Positive words are far more motivating

The UNCRPD in its preamble references the original UN Charter of 1946 which recognised the “dignity, worth & rights of every human being”.
These words are a sobering starting point to guide us in Health, Social Care, but just as importantly, in every other department of state.
