Happy New Year from the future—

An editor at a big 5 house just sent me an email explaining that the manuscript I sent him was well written but he did not “connect” with the material enough to move forward. Funny twist: His kind rejection was a template (which I also use and do not hate) But he was responding

I was notified of this honor a few weeks ago but had to keep my lips sealed until the official announcement. Now my lips are unsealed. Can you hear my shouts of joy? I know you can.

My wife’s mom has Alzheimer’s disease. Earlier tonight, we left her parents alone at their Airbnb while we took the kids to urgent care for ear infections. Her dad fell asleep on the couch. Her mom wandered out the door… 🧵
