Alex Salmond says he was given a letter before the inquiry started today about what he could & couldn’t discuss from his own evidence. Says this is wrong way round - any parly sd be able to talk more widely than the rest of the public arena.

cristina fabiani trying to conflate the Sturrell prodecure used against Salmond with retrospective policy on former politicians currently going through WM & HR. She's deliberately ignoring that the inquiry she's chairing is into a ScotGov procedure ALREADY ruled illegal by a court.

We should not be surprised because is a very intelligent articulate man, but Alex Salmond is bloody good in this hearing! He is ramming home the point about the policy cooked up by a group of people being unlawful, unfit for purpose and deeply distressing to all concerned.

So, I’m guessing that all foreign nationals that commit a serious crime in the U.K. will not face deportation. They’ll be our problem.

James Dornan SNP Don’t think he is fighting to salvage his ego. He fought to clear his name and to highlight an illegal process that was orchestrated by the first minister and her civil servants. You forget he won in two courts one with a jury of nearly all women. You have to stop this....

James Dornan SNP ‘It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it’! Can’t say I’m not disappointed in you but then again I’m not surprised! It’ll be every man for themselves soon so better not commit yourself too much!

Cornish fisherman has exported nothing since Jan 4th. Says it’s all Brexit. They were handling covid just fine. He sees fishing going the same way as tin mining in Cornwall and communities won’t recover for decades. [support BylineTV on Patreon. Thanks]

The intellectual stamina and related patience of Alex Salmond is astonishing under such a prolonged interrogation behind which lies a mountain of fact and evidence. And, shamefully, not all the evidence is allowed or produced, as AS repeatedly points out

Of course, Alex knows and so do many of us who ''gave'' the story to the record but if the police had acted and investigated the rat who sold the story that person would have crumbled and that reporter should have been charged also but the crown office are also culpable.
