What if your computer made a little bit of noise every time it sent data to Google?

So much of government tech is building forms. The hard part is figuring out how to structure vs paper, what questions make sense in what context, and being able to merge or skip questions based on previous answers. This gives you a great foundation to start with, so cool!

As a kid, the magic of software was that I could sit down and make something with no license, degree, or ~money.

Gotta say, publishing an iOS app from scratch today is a verrry diff vibe. I wonder how many young people's ideas we've lost at 'and now register for a DUNs number.'

A Ukrainian soldier texts from Donbas:

- The whole unit was watching. After the vote, one could hear all over the trench: “YESSS!”

Thank you!

To all folks operating a Saas. Even if monitoring is low on your radar, just do this and run it every 10 minutes. It’s free on Checkly

Very cool look at how the Warriors’ court gets assembled after a concert at Chase Center. Didn’t even notice the Peter Hartlaub byline until the end. ‘It’s just magic’: Watch the Warriors’ court be assembled, one 240-pound slab at a time sfchronicle.com/sports/article…

We've just opened a new firmware/system software role (open to US, Canada, and Taiwan). We develop open source firmware to enable products like this, and we have even more exciting projects on our roadmap:

The obfuscated backdoor was found by someone who noticed and looked into performance degradation, basically out of sheer luck. We’re all lucky it got caught at all, and as soon as it did. It would have been much worse if it had kept on for longer

Rust Nation UK 🦀 Not Your President 🦀 Rust Language Rust Foundation At Fastly, we chose to use Rust to implement WebAssembly for sandboxing on our Compute platform to solve the problem of memory safety & to isolate the blast radius of running problematic code on the platform not only down to each customer’s services but down to each request.

'Maybe the most interesting part here is the privacy server. Google actually partnered with CDN and edge computing specialist Fastly to use Fastly’s Oblivious HTTP privacy server.'

Millennials can’t be blamed for the erosion of community. When I was in college, I had to read Putnam’s Bowling Alone four separate times for four separate classes, a book that traces its decline to before we were born. We inherited social entropy, not community.

Shocker... a study out of Cambridge, Massachusetts confirmed that separated bike lanes significantly increase the number of cyclists and reduce driving.

WHOA!

NYC reports it has almost completely eliminated its (VERY LARGE) backlog for SNAP (food stamps) and cash aid!

And they did it by... reducing administrative burden! Namely, they are waiving the 6-month report!!

g HELLDIVERS™ 2 Yes! Good idea, I will sit behind the engineers and ask them 'are we there yet?'.

Or... I could let the engineers work independently, towards our common goal without me as the CEO pestering them at every moment.

I wonder which one will work best? 🤔
