Garbo and John Gilbert in #FleshandtheDevil, a stunningly erotic silent film airing on TCM tonight at 9:30 EDT. I remember reading a contemporary critic writing that when they kissed, you could hear the popcorn settle in cartons because the audience was too slacked to eat.

Was thinking of this film during Dem convention in 2016 and last week. Airing on TCM in the middle of the night as part of Fred MacMurray day. Saw it when I was 12, and can't believe it may no longer be a fantasy.
