The Secret Maps Exhibition at the British Library is well worth a look. As this shows, maps are not just for navigating, but a tool for power, knowledge and even deception. Thought-provoking.
Great day's volunteering at WWT London Wetland Centre yesterday. The Bittern was showing well from Dulverton. Also Redwing in the car park area, a Snipe from the Wildside Hide, and lovely flock of Siskin and Redpoll in the alders of the Summer Route. #LondonBirds
Sensational darts from Luke Littler πππ. Simply unplayable.
Delighted to have become a member of the parkrun UK 250 Club and to have earned the right to sport a green shirt. That's a lot of lie-ins that never happened!
Another top night of snooker at Alexandra Palace. A big well done to Neil Robertson OAM. Such a great way to spend a January evening! π
The Museum of Cider museum in Hereford was fascinating. Learnt a lot and have a new found respect for this drink! ππ
There's always something of ornithological interest at RSPB Minsmere π and yesterday was no exception: the Caspian Gull was a lifer. Not a bird that featured in my childhood bird books! Bewick's Swan and Goosander also nice sightings. #SuffolkBirds
And that's Course No. 80 π. Many thanks to the volunteers who made today's Colchester parkrun a success.
A good day's volunteering on Sunday WWT London Wetland Centre. Cracking birds too, including: Redwing, Chiffchaff, Bittern, Kingfisher (stonking views), Green Woodpecker, Siskin, Redwing, Little Egret, displaying Great-crested Grebe and the usual array of ducks. π¦π¦’π¦ββ¬
