Norfolk LA fined by Ombudsman after a girl with autism, besieged by crippling anxiety, spent years in and out of school before her parents decided to withdraw her - because the council repeatedly failed to accommodate her complex needs. greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/news/autistic-…

Its incredibly important to know, when reading this link, that this story is the standard experience of most #SEND families. I know not one single #Neurodivergent kid who has had their needs met in education w/out a giant, traumatic battle. Its a sick and twisted system.

Schools often brand neurodivergent students as having ‘challenging behaviour.’ But I wonder how often the schools consider how the teacher’s behaviour is challenging for their neurodivergent students?

Far too many families have been failed for far too long. It's not just a question of provision & funding, but culture too. If SCC want to turn services around & start rebuilding trust with families then a truly independent, transparent audit is required. eadt.co.uk/news/education…
