Canada strongly condemns Toomaj Salehi’s death sentence. Like Toomaj, many advocating democratic change have been victim to IRGC’s human rights violations & blatant disregard for human life. Canada unequivocally opposes the death penalty in all cases, everywhere.

Since 2010, Canada has sanctioned a total of 450 Iranian individuals and entities for human rights violations and grave breaches of international peace & security. Canada stands with the Iranian people & continues to coordinate with its allies and partners on sanctions measures.
