If anyone doesn’t know, the {ggdist} package is THE package for plotting distributions. It produces absolutely gorgeous figures of analytic or data distributions. Aside from {ggplot2}, this is probably the package I use the most for dataviz.

For the first time in my academic career - together with my co-authors (Jan Willem Bolderdijk and @hansrisselada) I gave up on the opportunity to formally publish my work in a journal.

It is not that the topic is not important (it is).

🚨Happy to share our new paper with Environmental Psychology Groningen and Eawag colleagues, Goda Perlaviciute, Nadja Contzen, and Linda Steg. ⚡️We examined how trust in local and central institutions relates to public support of phasing out natural gas.

Intentions are not behavior. Self-reported behavior is barely valid due to inaccuracy. If a paper only has intentions, willingness, hypothetical support—these are not behavior. This is okay, we just need to stop completing the entire narrative loop without actual behavior.

If you're not using ChatGPT/LLMs for writing, it could be very easy for you to overlook how much others are using it. But not evenly. Judging thinking quality or character from writing is about to get much noisier, and it was noisy already. This affects my job in many ways.

How much of a unicorn is tennis?

Clark would make more for losing first round US Open (~$85,000) than she will from an entire season WNBA salary($76,535).

About 300 women earned more tennis prize money than that last year; 170 already have this year through just mid-April.

Why do we choose big houses: to be happy? When it's a zero-sum status game, doubling everyone's house size does not make anyone happier. You remain at the same social status, but now everyone is poorer and spends more time cleaning.
