Quality of clay has nothing to do with color, though. Rome has awful red clay regularly. Santiago’s red clay this year was a disaster. Barcelona red clay just took out Cazaux.

Madrid blue clay was “slippery,” some claimed, but there were no injuries on the stuff that whole week.
