Canada failing to support international law and justice for Palestine at the UN is a betrayal of our claim to support an international rules-based system. This was a shameful, unprincipled abstention and will further damage Canada’s global reputation.

The kids aren't allowed to protest settler-colonialism but the school board will encourage them all to wear orange shirts next week.

Very similar to the turnout in Toronto - actually, their "crew" in Ottawa was slightly bigger.... Let's hope this sends a message to those few sad souls who continue to just not get it - #lovewins #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Show some love to unions doing what they should be doing. Protesting in solidarity with community. They are receiving hate right now for their solidarity with Free Grassy. Imagine hating a statement that says “Clean water is a Human Right”. #onlab #canlab

If you are trying to ruin someone’s professional life because they hold an opinion that is different than yours - honestly, shame on you.

That a non journalist can see this and say this but mainstream western media refuses to acknowledge- focussing instead on tone policing- says so much about the suppression of speech here in this moment.

There is significant disinformation around the Grassy Narrows protest that took place on Wednesday. Several #OntEd teachers are being wrongfully defamed. It would be outstanding if our professional organizations and unions offered to fight this defamation on their behalf.

Jamie Mitchell It was a beautiful protest. Inclusive, educational and exactly the sort of thing I want my kids to be learning. As a parent with two kiddos attending TDSB schools I am not ok with pandering to this misinformation and these attacks on educators.

Call your unions & demand they take “political action” at the public defamation & harassment of members. Remind them that this is far-right fake rhetoric is building distrust of our public system, contributing to privatization. At minimum, public statements are needed. #onted

.Toronto District School Board stop kowtowing to groups like CIJA & FSWC, who are spying on our students & spreading misinformation. Apologizing for a field trip is anti-Palestinian racism in action. Stand up for justice, not buckle under pressure. Sign the letter now! #TDSB actionnetwork.org/letters/demand…

There’s a line between fair criticism and defamation. Graves runs a master class about how to deal with defamation. Good on him for responding this way. Anyone can file a claim re defamatory statements in small claims court so there’s no reason to take that type of abuse.

I think the NBE3U course is a valuable step in the direction of reconciliation. There is nothing wrong with it being the mandatory grade 11 course. I question the framing of this story and the headline...you can already see the anti-Indigenous racism in the comments. #OntEd

The harassment that educators face by, let’s face it, conservative and anon accounts should be criminal. That teachers and other school staff become such targets that safety plans need to be made should be criminal.

Muna Kadri (@munakadri) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I am having trouble connecting the conservative dots, can someone help me? I’m told life is tough because of Trudeau & Singh but Ford just said it’s because people are lazy. Also, I’m told Trudeau gave all our jobs to immigrants, but Ford says anyone can get a job. ?????

Negro Frolics (@desmondcole) 's Twitter Profile Photo

My goodness... children as young as eight brought by teachers to a political event carrying signs clearly made in advance waving flags, wearing the same colours chanting slogans and taking sides even giving interviews to the media... How did we all miss this?

You don’t build up public education by tearing down teachers. We’re all partners at the table, respectful dialogue is how we move forward together. Thank you for speaking up Karen Brown. #onted

This is not about pity. This is about transparency. I've been teaching for 25 years. I've never seen or felt morale so low. I have conversations daily - DAILY - with colleagues who are actively looking to get out of the profession. Each person's recipe is different... #OntEd
