Bringing the police on to campus to arrest students staging a sit-in is grotesque.

The compact between student and university should be all-encompassing and clearly stated.

Yesterday should have been a day of expulsions, not arrests.

Judge Merchan seemed to really enjoy reprimanding Trump’s lawyers and Trump himself. As the Sandoval hearing concluded, after about an hour, Trump sprung up from his seat. Merchan told him: “Sir, can you please take a seat? Thank you.” Trump promptly sat down, unhappily.

Per witness, man who set himself ablaze had a sign saying something about Trump and Biden's working together to orchestrate a coup. ie part of the craziness of the trial itself & not an independent protest. There will be big challenges keeping trial from spinning out of control.

I was physically attacked by pro-terror protesters before my lecture at Columbia University. Instead of a lecture, I had to file a complaint with the police. They may have drawn blood but these cowards will never stop me.

Here's a short, riveting book that you'll never get out of your mind: Dispatches, by Michael Herr.

It's his account of a year's worth of reporting in Vietnam and it just about blew my head off my shoulders when I read it in my 20's.

'Vietnam, Vietnam. We've all been there.'

Her skin is smooth
as peach or appleblossom
-or a snakeskin. The snake's fangs gleam,
the fruit glistens as warmly in her palm as ever it shone
on the holy tree. He savours it so slowly, it sticks in
our throat forever.
