Dr. Jennifer Murphy, of John Carrol University, visited us with her Plant Ecology class to herbaceous plant community composition. Dr. Murphy got her PhD last spring from CWRU Dept of Biology. She worked on plant competition with Dr. Jean Burns. Welcome back to the Farm Jennifer!

Recently Dr. Jean Burns and her BIOL 351 students collected data at our American beech primary forest. The information that they collected is part of a long term study to quantify survival and growth of over 1,000 trees!

Checked some BrowningTrailCameras at the Case Western Reserve University | University Farm today that have been up for much of November. This camera focused on a tree stump about 6 feet (~1.8 m) high. Lots of creatures using the stump. I'll start with a funny one - watch the slow-motion of squirrel jumping at camera. #CWRU
