Year 3 - working on teamwork in today lesson. Understanding the importance of talking and listening.

In #ctkmaths , 3 Elm have been working hard at developing their number sense! Today, we were developing our knowledge of the number system. We had a go at playing the game 21 with a twist. We called it ‘two tens and one’! We loved it, even if Miss Owens won every game! 😊

Wet break only means one thing in 3 Elm, Library time 🤩🤩

3 Elm enjoying their prayer time today. Saint Francis of Assisi asked us to try and become more connected to nature so Year 3 have taken time out of their day to say thanks to God for the season of spring and the signs of new life that are all around us. #ctkre 🌲🌳🫶🏻

In #ctkpe , 3 Elm were focussing on developing their communication skills to try and solve different problems. We looked at the importance of team work and what it takes to be a good team player. We all realised that communication is key to success when working in a team 🤝

What a lovely group of musicians! In #ctkmusic we recapped on our knowledge of key terms! We focussed on pulse and pitch! We also had a go at reading sheet music to help us play the right notes, well done Elm!!😇

In #ctkmaths , Year 3 have been working extremely hard on deeping their knowledge of number bonds. We used cuisenaire blocks to help us identify numbers bonds to 20, spotting patterns along the way! 😅

In #ctkpe , Elm class continued to develop their communication and teamwork skills. We discussed how crucial it is to give clear instructions when working as a team to make sure everyone understands their role! We put this theory into practice when the blindfolds came out! 👏🏼

In #ctkre , we looked at the poetic language/techniques used in the Creation. We also looked at the poem ‘The Word Bird’ by Sally Crabtree and recognised that they both used repetition to emphasise the beauty within the Creation! We then had a go at creating our own poem 😇

In 3 Beech we responded to the song, All things bright and beautiful, recognising the wonders of God’s Creation with actions and beautiful singing!

In #ctkmusic , we continued developing our knowledge of musical terminology. We looked at ‘Hallelujah’, a famous piece of Baroque choral music composed by George Frideric Handel, looking its structure and harmonies! We then improvised our own pieces of music 🥰

In #ctkcomputing, Year 3 have been developing their knowledge of programming. We have been using Scratch to look at the different codes and have even developed our ability at matching codes to their actions! 💪🏼

In #ctkpe , Year 3 have started to develop their compass and map skills. We looked at the four points of a compass and tested our knowledge through a fun game! We also looked at a map of the school, seeing if we can locate different places using the key 🗺️

In #ctkre , 3 Elm continued to look at how beauty within the Creation is emphasised. We sang ‘All things bright and beautiful’ and created actions to match the lyrics. We recognised that this song highlights the Creation’s beauty through it’s beautiful, calm melody😇 #ctkmusic

3 Elm have started to write their adventure stories! They have worked hard at developing the writing technique of using expanded noun phrases to effectively describe the setting and characters! I can’t wait to read what will happen next! 😄 #ctkenglish

In #ctkre , 3 Elm had the joy of watching CAFOD’s assembly all about the Creation! We then looked at how we could be stewards of the Creation!

Happy #liverpoolmathspartyday 😅 3 Elm had a lot of fun using their number sense and problem solving skills to try and decipher a message from Jalal, Varjak Paw’s ancestor! It was tough but we all persevered💪🏼👏🏼 #ctkmaths
