Our pres & CEO, JJ Ament, is back to his roots today with the Colorado Competitive Council Basecamp tour of Sterling and the #ag economy. He’s pictured with Byron H Pelton and the Sterling Livestock Commissioner, Jim Santomaso.

We auctioned off Byron H Pelton at the Sterling Livestock Commission. Afraid we didn't get a very good price. But we did learn a lot about the economic impact of cattle production, including the many unexpected products that contain cattle byproducts, like fireworks and cake.

Since 2019, #coleg passed 43 bills creating new lawsuits, most against Colorado job creators - making our state one of the most expensive in U.S. #coleg #lawsuitabuse Common Sense Institute Colorado commonsenseinstituteco.org/co-legal-expen…

We spent today learning how Aurora Water takes water the color in the foreground to drinking water that wins taste awards, all while being a national leader in potable reuse and conservation. #coleg

Happy to support C3 Basecamp alum Representative Matt Soper and Steering Committee member Grand Junction Chamber as they bring consuls general and other economic development partners to the Grand Valley to talk international business development. #coleg

We’re starting today’s Basecamp with a trip to Pueblo to visit the EVRAZ North America steel mill. Specifically in Pueblo, Evraz’s emissions are 3-4x lower than anywhere else in the US. We’re also getting to hear from Senator Senator Nick Hinrichsen 🇺🇸🔰 about his district.

We’re in the heart of Pueblo for today’s Basecamp at the Pueblo Riverwalk, where we’re getting to check out some awesome infrastructure, hear about the community’s history and tourism, and explore local businesses like the Clink and Brues Alehouse.

Next stop for today’s Basecamp is Meadow Lake Airport with Representative Don Wilson! This airport is a “reliever” airport for the CO Springs airport, with smaller planes using it so traffic stays lighter. A few Basecamp attendees even got to take a ride ✈️

Now it’s off to the races for our next Basecamp stop! We’re at Overdrive Raceway - Indoor Kart Racing in Colorado Springs, a family-owned indoor kart racing track that has a variety of ADA accessible karts so everyone can enjoy the raceway 🏎️

We wrapped up Basecamp season with dinner at Flying Horse! Thank you to this year’s cohort, Rep. Representative Don Wilson, Sen. Senator Nick Hinrichsen 🇺🇸🔰, Rep. Meghan Lukens, Rep. William Lindstedt, Sen. Byron H Pelton, Rep. Rep Naquetta Ricks - COHD40, Rep. Rick Taggart, and Sen. 🪷Senator Janice Marchman 🪷 for an amazing season!

Discussing changes to get Colorado building more condominiums that people can afford to buy. The American Dream is to own our own home, not be a forever tenant. I am proud to be working on this to make home ownership a reality for more people.Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Colorado Competitive Council #coleg

Our Investor Chair and Xcel Energy Colorado’s Michael Sapp was able to provide welcome remarks for the Business Legislative Preview, hosted by C3 and Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. We’re thrilled he was able to join and talk about the unique programs and committees we host!

Thank you Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and @COcompetes for hosting today's legislative preview event. We look forward to working on bipartisan solutions to keep jobs in Colorado. #coleg #dmccpolicy

Thank you, Colorado Chamber and Colorado Competitive Council, for opposing SB24-033 and recognizing the detrimental economic impacts this will have on Colorado’s mountain communities (cc: AspenCo Glenwood Chamber SummitChamberNews Steamboat Springs)
