After two weeks of extensive negotiations, #COP27 has concluded with a hallmark implementation plan #SHIP, and a historic deal for agenda item and outcome on #LossAndDamage funding.

1/2.📢GOOD NEWS: With these words: “I now invite the COP to adopt the draft decision on funding arrangements for #LossAndDamage. I hear no objections. It is so decided.” the COP27 gavelled into existence a #LossAndDamage fund at #COP27.

Successes at #COP27: ✅ Loss & damage fund focused on particularly vulnerable countries. ✅ Demand for MDBs to define a new vision & operational model equal to the climate crisis. ✅ Nuanced debate about responsibility & vulnerability beyond the developed/developing dichotomy.

Over 14 days, the world’s eyes were on Sharm El-Sheikh, as #COP27 brought together 112 heads of state, over 46,000 delegates including ministers, scientists, policy-makers, members of civil society, IGOs, activists and youth.
