In 2022, a Democratic House approved 4 aid requests to Ukraine totalingi $75 billion. Since then, a Republican House has refused all aid to Ukraine. It's not 'the United States' that is abandoning its friends. It is the Trump Republicans. theatlantic.com/politics/archi…

Ukrainians could be forgiven for wondering why, if the US and UK are happy to shoot down missiles headed towards Israel, they won’t do the same for Ukraine. Or give Ukraine the means to do it itself.

Counterpoint: Hinkle's 'online celebrity' is manufactured through Ru bots; he's not a symbol of the 'modern internet', but of Western naivete about Ru's hybrid warfare against us. Grow up The New York Times and stop helping Ru's disinformation narratives.

The Democratic Party is strong, unified, raising tons of money and winning elections all across the country.

The GOP is broke, and broken, an unprecedented political dumpster fire.

Why does MTG know so much about the split in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church? Because 'oppression of the Ukrainian orthodox [Moscow Patriarchy!]'is a Kremlin talking point. It's complicated, but Alex Finley explains it. alexzfinley.substack.com/p/gop-finally-…

Follow the money! There's a ton of it in US politics, more difficult than ever to trace b/c of Citizens United. But where there's smoke (Republicans parroting Kremlin talking points) there's almost certainly fire. from Alex Finley newrepublic.com/article/180630…

If the West abandons Ukraine, as seems increasingly likely due to a horrific mix of cynicism, incompetence, and the corrosion of our democratic institutions by Russia, it will be the greatest strategic own goal since the sacrificing of Spanish Republic to the fascists.

This is a very polite way to express the thought: 'Unfortunately a crucial blocking faction of your Congress takes orders from a criminally indicted Russian stooge candidate for president.'

We had Rodney King, the court cases and the riots/uprising, a huge mayor's race to replace Tom Bradley, massive displacement w/the end of the aerospace industry, the Simpson circus, EARTHQUAKE and being young, poor and doing what you needed to live in the big city. It was great:)

LA in the early 90s was a wild place, in full transition. Carrying a heavy PNW bias, I never wanted to live there, but I loved it- I'm sure it was because of all the crazy shit of that era. I still think it's one of the world's most interesting cities. latimes.com/california/sto…

what do Georgians think of the draft law on 'transparency of foreign influence'? Judging from a March 2023 CRRC survey, the majority are set against it.
Only 18% favoured its adoption.
