Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching The Labour Party The debate is nothing new, nor the prog/trad language. Here's Dewey back in 1938 (Experience and Education). In the end there's no knowledge that isn't skilful and no skills that aren't knowledgeable unless they are taught that way ime.

A good example of why it’s going to be so important for Labour to engage with teachers at the chalkface and not just think tanks.

The Fabian Society is more than welcome to do so too.

Since this morning, 60 teachers, led by @MrSmithRE have formed a campaign group, Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching, saying the recommendations are 'disappointing and worrying'

If the Skills Review has ‘flown a kite’ that’s led to a serious and constructive - but critical debate on what The Labour Party’s future education policy should look like, then I think it’s succeeded.

Hats off to Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching & @The_Ed_Alliance

Tom Bennett OBE @MrSmithRE Miss Smith Rachel Lofthouse Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching The Labour Party Bridget Phillipson Being a raging lefty myself, I get mildly* frustrated by Lysenko-ite attitudes that reject the evidence about what works for the most disadvantaged students because it doesn't fit with how they feel things 'should' work.

We’d love to show Keir the hard work and effort that so many teachers and schools have put into creating rich and diverse curricula for their schools.

It’s not to say changes would all be bad but let’s appreciate what we have first.

James Lauder Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching Love this explanation. The dichotomosing of ways to teach is never the way. When the term traditional was being thrown around, I ask what this meant. It sounded dirty. But equity in our offer to young people is what matters, regardless of the progressive/trad synopsis

I expect all of those who were saying that Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching was a huge conspiracy as it came into existence so quickly will be saying the same about @The_Ed_Alliance. Also, if the former are all Tory, does that mean that the latter are all Corbynites?

Nina Wildflower Name Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching The Labour Party May I ask, what reason do you have then for teaching in a mask, if it’s not anxiety? You’re obviously terrified of the students you teach, which would concern me, if my son was one of your students.

Some utter tripe floating about regarding @ceiteaching so flagging this tweet to amplify their reasoning.

I’m on holiday so haven’t looked really closely but don’t see anything I disagree with.

And no, I’m not a Tory. You can disagree with Labour edu policy without being

If you're the NEU, and you've got a chunk of cash burning a hole in your back pocket, you can use it to fund an APPG, appoint some friendly parliamentarians and produce a report into GCSEs and SATs.

Sadly Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching doesn't have the same resources.

Rachel Lofthouse Miss Smith Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching The Labour Party Bridget Phillipson Having been in discussions with this group all day, I can assure you this is not a Conservative group and there are no ‘edu priests from up high’. Just a mix of primary and secondary classroom teachers wanting to work with Labour to further develop their education manifesto.

Rachel Lofthouse Miss Smith Campaign for Evidence-Informed Teaching The Labour Party Bridget Phillipson Hi Rachel I have not or even will vote 'blue' I was trained in all kinds of group based / project teaching methods in the early 2000's. When I stopped in about 2010 the pupils results and life changes improved. I still feel guilty about the pupils I made 'research'.
