Sports and Ethics? Very ambivalent relationship and lots of things to be considered. Super debate about reforming ethics in sport with representatives from the Swiss Government and sports institutions in the Suisse Sport centre Magglingen. Danke et Merci!

And another publication ready. It strikes me that I know ever more about my own academic expertise, the older I get. On the other hand, ever less. Also, publishing has become a competition, a fight. It has lost its magic. I know, all of this is banal. I still love doing research

Increasing media coverage about Finnish politics in European (here: German) newspapers. Today: "Racism without regret". Sad!

Myself, I have specialized in ethics management. Very complex issue, indeed. Contrary to this, current trends towards extreme right/populist policies are very black and white and simplistic and destroy what has been achieved.

I wonder: Are systematic literature reviews increasing? Certainly very useful, very important and very interesting. But also an easy way to attract as many citations as fast as possible?

I am looking for an international accepted definition of administrative sciences and discussing whether it is (exclusively) covering the public sector/public service delivery or, e.g. including all aspects of administration in its broadest meaning.

Utrecht University Utrecht University in the Netherlands has withdrawn itself from the World University ranking World University Rankings provided by Times Higher Education. As this has generated quite some reactions - praise, questions, some doubts, I want to provide some context. Hence a thread 🧵1/16

Just finished my course about Governance Benchmarking. Students agreed with me about the need to create more awareness about the many flaws to quantify, rate and rank almost everything, from happiness to integrity

Really interesting conference and supercspeakers in the German Ministry of the Interior about future retention policies and the attractiveness of public sector employment (still ongoing)

Deja- vu. It is fashion time. Suddenly, everybody talks about too much bureaucracy and the need to reduce it. But little discussion about why we have it and what we mean by bureaucracy? Standardisation, rules, processes, (citizen) rights in permitting procedures, or complexity?
