We’re pleased to co-sponsor this new global trial assessing antimalarial medicines in women in their first trimester of pregnancy. SAFIRE will evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability and cost-effectiveness of antimalarial drugs to treat uncomplicated malaria.

This groundbreaking research targets the microbiome of parasitic worms to combat diseases like lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis. Boron-based compounds inhibited the Wolbachia enzyme LeuRS, halting worm growth. This novel approach could lead to more effective treatments.
