Wow - if validated, smoking cessation after kidney cancer surgery appears to be an incredibly effective method to reduce progression and mortality, even for lower stage tumors and light smokers. ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JC…

Interesting data from NLST - among 55-74yo with smoking history, 3.2% had incidental renal masses on screening CT chest. If entire kidney imaged, prevalence likely higher. Remains to be seen if finding/treating incidental renal masses helps patients.
