.KTLA just had to go to a montage after reporting live and recording Pro-Israeli protestors spraying bear spray, assaulting , and throwing fireworks to peaceful Palestinian protestors at UCLA.

Pro-Israel counterprotestors started tearing down UCLA encampment barriers and screamed 'Second nakba!' referring to the mass displacement & dispossession of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. Per Los Angeles Times Safi Nazzal on the scene with another video:

anyone can and seemingly will post anything on here, but when people stop paying attention to youth organizers and their movements again, i'll hopefully remember that i saw this all in real life while people spent time making shit up or making death threats online

lots to say/too much happening to string together, but having visited several encampments, i can tell you i've seen them masked up, dancing or studying, making art, giving each other food, covid tests, sharing sunscreen, water, brushes. they want to build a different world

Next week, Columbia University, which has banned reporters from its campus, is scheduled to announce this year’s winners of one of the most prestigious prizes in journalism.

Actual reporters who are on campus are pointing out that they are seeing their classmates arrested and taken away, that campus has been restricted to students for over a week (it would reveal deep failures of Columbia's own security) and that there is NO EVIDENCE OF THIS.

At Columbia University journos are threatened with arrest + USC is closed to outside media.

Two of the best journo schools in the country folks + ours is the only job protected in the constitution. If not for incredibly brave student journos, we would have no form of witnessing.

Can’t wait for the president of Columbia University to tell my industry what’s good journalism at the Pulitzers next week. Try not to trip over any hogtied student journalists while collecting your award.

I think it’s also really easy in this industry to discount younger journalists for their lack of experience but I hope tonight really highlights just how mistaken that assumption is.

according to WKCR the NYPD threatened to arrest jelani cobb -- the dean of the journalism school -- if he left the j-school building.
