I haven't been on twitter for a while. (Is it even still twitter?) Mostly I am seeing tweets (are they still tweets?) by people (are they people?) I don't follow. Just the worst internet sludge clogging up what used to be my timeline. Can I fix this? Or should I just forget it?

Even as I know I have to share these terrible and urgent updates and warnings, I feel growing apprehension of the bonds snapping between people and communities. We will all lose a little of our humanity under such stress. How can we staunch that flow before it’s too late.

We need an immediate ceasefire now. End the indiscriminate bloodshed and the massive attacks on Gaza. Restore the flow of humanitarian aid. We call for the protection of civilians and health care facilities on both sides of the conflict, at all times.
