Standing in solidarity with former colleagues from University of Huddersfield today. I'm told 12% of the workforce are to lose their jobs without offers of redundancy and most others have to reapply for their jobs. Ruthless cuts against colleagues with decades of service at the university!
Reposting as it’s more unusual these days, but not impossible that an NHS England colleague might be making the ubiquitous journey!
My wonderful family SouthWestYorkshire Partnership NHS FoundationTrust have kindly invited me to one of these sessions to meet loads of great new preceptees… the next generation of brilliant people that’ll let this old RMN retire one day!
So grateful.

It is not good news.
The suicide rate rose 6% from 2022, the first substantial rise since 2018.
The rate was 11.1 per 100,000 people, highest figure since 1999.

Hugely proud to work for an NHS England Senior PM who says, “I’m working on MH in-pt capability, please let me go inside a unit”, and even more gratitude to the staff and pts of SouthWestYorkshire Partnership NHS FoundationTrust in my honorary role, who said, “Sure, we’ll show you round one where we are”. 🙏
