Fast swimming comes from great feel for the water, moving yourself forward well with every stroke. Take a look at one of our most read articles this year - to really help you improve your swim. triathlonswimsquad.com/2024/05/08/swi…

It’s nice to feel missed! First time back in David Lloyd Speke for 5 or 6 weeks (been swimming in Knowsley) and was greeted by a few of the old(er) ladies - as they kindly exited ‘my lane’. “It’s been a while since we’ve seen you. Been anywhere nice?”

"Well done on setting some great big goals and doing everything possible to achieve them. You’ve deserved your success!" Four years of an athlete-coach relationship has resulted in some brilliant achievements. And it has been a pleasure along the way. triathlonswimsquad.com/2024/09/03/wha…

Using the walls to good effect in tonight’s Swim Squad session. Thinking about power, streamline, relaxation, kicking and maintaining speed. Nice work!

Broken 100s is quickly becoming my favourite set! Did a set of 8 x (broken) 100s again this morning towards the end of my 3k session. A strict 5s rest after each 25m (18s) still coming in around 1.30. 30s rest between each 100m. Tougher than it sounds - but great fun!

In our Swim Squad, we talk a lot about efficient speed. It doesn’t come from quicker arms & legs. It comes from what you do under the water. If we get the catch & pull right, we’re going to be very efficient, travel a great distance on each stroke … and swim really fast!

A massive well done to Swim Squad athlete, Kate, for completing the Brutal Half earlier today! Arguably one of the toughest races in the UK, Kate performed brilliantly coming in 50th position overall (11th female). A well deserved reward for a really hard working athlete.

Braving the rain on today’s dog walk - and reflecting on my swim week. Five swims (15k) this week. Feeling pretty happy with that! No wonder my swim felt great this morning!

A story of a relatively new swimmer, a training plan, a couple of one to one sessions, a Swim Squad Online subscription - and The Triple Crown of swimming Coniston, Ullswater and Windermere in the same year. Incredible! triathlonswimsquad.com/2024/09/03/the…
