Shout out to @jabaribrisport for introducing #right2remainsilent at a recent Youth Forum on Policing in Brownsville. We're slowly getting the word out for youth to be read up on their rights and also empowered to have a voice in shaping legislation!

We invest in alternatives to incarceration because we want to work towards TRUE justice for court-involved youth.

Spring is back in the Bronx!

Not only is it seen in statistics, but we have on the grounds testimony of the unfair and unjust burden that families of color shoulder a heavier financial burden for those who are court involved.

Since passing Raise the Age, 90% of Westchester youth charged with felonies had their cases moved to Family Court or were given probation. It encourages us that one day #right2remainsilent will be passed so that 100% of all youth have their Miranda rights protected.

We've seen how technological advancement have helped those wrongfully accused be exonerated. Facial recognition software has a lot of untapped potential that can help those who are wrongly accused be rightly exonerated. Lets work towards that end!

The campaign to #closerikers continues. We have the opportunity to better fund alternatives to incarceration, job readiness support, education and youth services by reinvesting the dollars we use on Rikers.
