No New Jails NYC vs. CLOSErikers was what got me fully on-board with abolition in the first place. Abolitionists often get smeared as idealistic dreamers, but 5 years after NYC started building new jails, it's obvious that abolitionists were the only clear-eyed observers.

The campaign to #closerikers continues. We have the opportunity to better fund alternatives to incarceration, job readiness support, education and youth services by reinvesting the dollars we use on Rikers.
