Haymaking always reminds me of research project completed yrs ago Dept. of Agriculture that I love sharing with students. Researchers cut 1/2 hay field in AM and 1/2 field in PM on same day. Hay then fed in choice test and get consistent preference for PM cut hay by horses, cattle, sheep. Why?
Forage systems project w/ Dr Bart Lardner 🇨🇦 starting up at Livestock & Forage Centre of Excellence! SF6 data collection all week to collect and measure CH4 and CO2 on steers, as well as using a green feed system to collect them. Couldn’t get this done without a great team to help!
