Next Monday, Bristol SEG will welcome AEGIS professor Dr John Thompson as he delivers “Exploration and Mining - A World of Change”. His talk will look at how developments in geoscience, models and exploration tools have shaped what we know of and how we search for ore deposits.

Join us next Friday as Mark Howson delivers “Practical Aspects of Mining Geology”. Mark will also share case studies from his own time in the field to demonstrate why mining geologists must always demonstrate good practice - especially when things go wrong. Friday at 13:00 in G8!

We were incredibly lucky to welcome Prof. John Thompson to Bristol for a Bristol SEG Chapter & University of Bristol Earth Sciences lecture on the future of mining yesterday. He provided excellent insight into the growing demand for metals, and how we can meet these needs as available reserves are depleted.
