rich Martin Booth Keep Bristol Moving Whoever would have thought that doubling down on anti car policies without a credible public transport alternative in the wake of pandemic lockdowns that crippled wealth creating independent private sector businesses might have led to this? 🤬😢

This is very sad news indeed. The Bristol Guild will leave an irreplaceable gap on Park Street. bristol247.com/lifestyle/shop…

Giving local politicians the right to decide who travels where, how and at what price, is a democratic disaster.
Bristol's CAZ zone is unpopular and the Labour council has failed to deal with the many wrongly-sent PCNS.

So there's talk of expansion.

Little job in The Botley Road, today, all roads in to town from my direction have 5 mile + tailbacks.

How is anyone meant to make a living in this County and how much time & money is being wasted sat on the tarmac?

MPs are doing a survey on the impact of LTNs. It seems they really don't know that roadblocks can blight lives.

Shall we tell them? The survey is short and the deadline May 6th.

'Around five out of six penalty charge notices (PCNs) were issued to motorists who were in fact permitted to enter a neighbourhood the council had closed to through traffic.'
That sounds like fraud on a mass scale! Why isn't central government concerned?

Khan says 'he would pay' if he saw somebody shoplifting nappies.

I'm choking on my coffee. What kind of people transport others around in older cars? £12.50 would buy quite a few nappies.

What utter rubbish! The majority of Southlands residents objected to their road block and the majority of Snow Hill residents objected to their RPZ. B&NES Council ignored them. 4000 signed a petition saying they didn't want this road block and guess what? The Council have ignored it!

These are very obvious examples of people who cannot rely on cycling and public transport.

Obvious IF you want to see them.

'Parklets' (aka 'Shitlets') in Berlin.
Inflicted on a neighbourhood that clearly was not clamouring to have them installed.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but it is as though there is a global initiative.

'Pupils have been mugged on “ghost town” streets created by a low traffic neighbourhood (LTN), a head teacher has warned.'

The law of unintended consequences strikes again
