I won’t be presenting BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight this eve. Along with NUJ colleagues across the country we’re refusing to act-up in senior roles due to the way cuts are being made to local BBC services. I’ll still report/present other progs. A freelancer will present the 1830 instead
You wont see the familiar faces presenting #SouthToday at 630 on BBC One for a bit. Those of us in NUJ at BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight are working to rule as part of industrial action against cuts to some local BBC services. We’ll still be working but not acting up More details below⬇️

Sadly we’re back to this. I’m not presenting the 1830 BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight this week along with NUJ BBC Nations & Regions colleagues across England. It’s part of a dispute with management over big changes to BBC local radio & services. We hope it will end soon so normal service can resume.
Your early morning BBC Radio Solent & BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight news team of @sophicridland and me won’t be bringing you your local news today because we’re striking to protect it! #KeepBBCLocalRadioLocal NUJ BBC Nations & Regions
On the picket line with NUJ BBC Nations & Regions members BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight BBC Radio Solent. Afraid there’ll be no local TV or radio output for 48 hours in a dispute over cuts to local services. It’s our second strike in 3 months and in between we’ve been working to rule #KeepBBCLocalRadioLocal
