There is no other profession that receives such constant and unjustified criticism from people who have not and could not do our job. 👀🤷🏼‍♂️😂

As I’ve stated on many #PublicOrder days, policing demonstrations is rarely easy & doesn’t ‘look’ pretty. 🤷🏼‍♂️

When a police cordon is put in place, it’s for a very good reason, often to prevent a breach of the peace, which means officers fear immediate violence.

At protests where there are polar opposite views, restrictions are often enforced under S12 & 14 of the Public Order Act 1986 to prevent violence & disorder. 🤷🏼‍♂️

We’ve used them for nearly 40 years because they work. 💯

The irony of posting a piece about de-escalating an incident involving a knife the day after another colleague has been stabbed in the line of duty is maddening. 🤦🏼‍♂️
