Agree with every perfectly crafted point in this essay by Scott Eggener and Matt Cooperberg et al We harm our patients and public health by being pathologically dogmatic. ascopubs.org/doi/full/10.12…

Dear JAMA Oncology, I politely suggest that you commit to an investigation into how & why the #ENACT trial was published. There is potential for enormous harm to men with early & intermediate prostate cancer. An urgent editorial with retraction of the article should be a minimum #pcsm

Standard News The formula one changeover! Thanks to all the surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre and nursing staff, and admin teams Guy's and St Thomas' that made this possible. AND particularly to our HIT list patients who have all done really well.

@GavinMcKee13 We have 8 robotic SCPs. Incredibly dedicated senior nurses. Some have done >3000 robotic cases. They can teach the medical students, registrars, fellows and even us consultants many things and regularly do. You can be taught by whoever knows the subject area

One thing that never ceases to amaze me as a urologist: How sick an infected, obstructed kidney stone can get an infected urinary system under pressure is bad bad news

So much smearing & belittling of consultants in the press, but this, from today’s The Times and The Sunday Times letters page, could not have put it more beautifully. Pls RT if you agree. #NHS 💙

UroX/MedX: how do you all FUP “small indeterminate pulmonary nodules.?” Do the FUP scans yourselves? Ask primary care to do? Refer to resp med? It seems reasonable to FUP pts ourselves if the have uro malignancy. But the rest?

In patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, extended lymphadenectomy did not improve disease-free or overall survival as compared with the standard procedure and was associated with higher morbidity and mortality. Full SWOG S1011 trial results: nej.md/4dBI8UN
