Listen to this Victoria Derbyshire interview with an asylum seeker…

…it absolutely blows the Rwanda narrative out of the water. THIS is what has been entirely missing from the national conversation - the viewpoints and motivations of asylum seekers.

With the government claim to be cracking down on “sick note culture” I gave my opinion

Yes, there are those who play the system but to stigmatize people who would love not to be in pain, depressed or disabled?

Let’s not blame the sick for the financial woes of this country

The Daily Telegraph has today published corrections to another inaccurate article about the National Trust. 18 days after it published the original article, and with far less prominence. Meanwhile it was reported onward in a number of other titles.

There was some big news this week which should have been top of the news agenda - the fact that it wasn’t and the story that dominated the public space instead tells a worrying story about the priorities of many in this country 🧵

I’m waiting for corrections & an apology for this article. In it Sir William has repeated a claim the Telegraph has had to correct before. It printed the very same wrong claim when it was made by Lord Sumption - correcting it days later. Meanwhile the story gets reported onward.

Chris Patten has just murdered the party of which he was Chairman. It’s all in here - the bilge of Brexit, the worst foreign policy error ever made, and the insanity of the right wing cult’s grip on this once great political machine. Pure gold, spread it.

How we vote is mostly about our feelings, and then we hunt around for ways to rationalise those feelings.

But look at the data, and if you voted Tory or Brexit... just think about this stuff.

I'm not taking the piss. Just ... consider this thread.

Just heard the Home Secretary stand up in Parliament and declare that 'the British people support the Rwanda plan'.

I'm sick of these guys telling me what I support.

I do not support the 'Rwanda plan'.

If you don't either, please retweet.

You know when a topic is there, in the background, and perhaps you don’t quite have the bandwidth to fully absorb how bad it is. But slowly, it starts to dawn on you that at some point, it’s going to supersede a lot of other topics

BREAKING
The senior officers of the Royal College of Physicians commissioned a survey of MRCPs’ views on physician associates (PAs). They have today released the actual findings, but the back story is shocking. I’ll link to the raw data at the end of this 🧵.

Tomorrow (13 March), there will be an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Royal College of Physicians on Physician Associates. We called this meeting because of concerns about patient safety. Please read and circulate our STATEMENT OF CONCERN about how the EGM is being set up.

At the end of my A&E visit I asked if they needed my credit card (because I am so used to paying for my healthcare) and the doctor laughed and said the A&E doesn't have a billing department and I can tell you how desperately I wish this was the way the US operated.

Well said, Dr Rachel Clarke 👏🏻

The government is absolutely still failing NHS staff TODAY.

This is not just a historic problem.

They *still* don’t have proper PPE.

Worse still, if NHS staff have Covid symptoms, they’re told not to test & still come to work!

It’s disgraceful.

Most people won't be able to make it to 6 infections before they have serious medical issues or disability.
You're not special. Everyone is at risk. It's not a cold. The simple & easy step of wearing a mask versus life of regret. If your mask is uncomfortable get a different one.

1. We may be a world that no longer has any meaningful non-pharmaceutical interventions in place, but I assure you we are not in a 'non pandemic world'. But don't take my word for it, please read what the Covid-19 Technical Lead at World Health Organization (WHO) has to say:
