The next few days in particular look to be extremely challenging for wildlife, with temperatures soaring. Some simple ways to help: •Leave out clean, fresh water •Don’t mow grass – it gives insects places to shelter •Top up ponds with rainwater collected in water butts (1/2)

Europe is on fire, meanwhile Kylie Jenner is taking 15 minute trips in her private jet. I could recycle everything, buy all my clothes second hand, compost and grow my own food for the rest of my life and it wouldn’t even begin to offset the footprint from one of her flights.

Why are Greater Knapweed, Common Knapweed, Field Scabious and many more beautiful wildflowers thriving in this drought without being watered? Because they, and some meadow grasses, have very deep roots! Excellent diagram for Floodplain Meadows Partnership by @Vicky_Bowskill!

It would be good to know what Rishi Sunak, Penny Mordaunt and Liz Truss’s plans are for farming at a time of global food insecurity. I asked all the candidates in the Tory leadership race this Q privately a week ago, and only had a response from Suella Braverman MP’s office…

Kicking off #orfc with some great speakers. Key message still remains: we need change and it needs to be faster and more connected. Our movement lacks political power- from @LandworkersUK
