Delighted to be in London with my colleagues to recieve this award ! In 2004 we developed the first Urban Structure Plan which has guided projects around themes of vibrancy, connectivity and strenghtening links between the Town and its Seafront. The value of good urban design.

Even glimpsed through temporary railings around the nearly-completed restoration of Dún Laoghaire Baths, the bronze statue of Sandycove-born Roger Casement, sculpted by Mark Richards, looks truly magnificent against the backdrop of Dublin Bay.

The street environment in Blackrock Village in Dublin has been transformed thanks to the South Dublin Coastal Mobility Route. Businesses in the village say the area is much more inviting and there are now more people on the street as a result. #ActiveTravel #2023Allocation

Happy Out cafe in Dun Laoghaire definitely the loveliest place to have coffee on a sunny morning. Mandinka playing in the background - I think Sinéad would approve ! TogetherAcademy

Designing the DLR Baths back in 2011 we thought of it as a canvas for public life. Our inspiration came from Holly Whyte, Jan Gehl and Christopher Alexander. Very proud to see the concept come to fruition and featured in Architecture Ireland magazine Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council DLR_Architects A2 Architects

Thinking especially of Niall McCullough today, his second anniversary. Remembering the wonderful celebration we had for him at the Provost's House last November. A recording of the symposium can be viewed here: tinyurl.com/5ftk5daj

The linear paving was inspired by the idea of reducing the amount of hard surface in the Myrtle Square & Convent Lane project. There is a wide and narrow paving unit. Soil and planting will run through the spaces where the narrow unit has been left out adjacent to planter beds
