The Little Ringed Plover is an under-recorded species that breeds on open ground in a variety of habitats including some, e.g. brownfield, industrial and building sites, not often visited by birders. Now is a great time of year explore new areas to find them.

Beautiful morning for carrying out my Dartford Warbler survey square in Thetford Forest. No Dartford Warblers but a heath I'd never visited before. Woodlarks, Tree Pipit & Willow Warblers recorded. Plenty of squares to cover across the UK for Dartford Warbler & Nightjar.
