We wrote to UK Prime Minister, supported by National Children's Bureau @homestartuk Better Breastfeeding. The letter reminded the PM that if the Govt. fails to act, & doesn't extend #StartforLife funding, the consequences could leave vulnerable babies at risk. Read our letter👉 bit.ly/40n5ZVr

As members of the HPIG, we welcome the launch of the new #Roadmap. In particular we support the call to put prevention at the heart of health policy, starting with babies & children. As Keith Reed explains, #StartforLife funding plays a crucial role in doing this👇

We're at the UNICEF Baby Friendly UK conference online today. Looking forward to all the presentations. Great to hear from Shereen Fisher about all the new accreditations this year. We know, from our work with local infant feeding services, how much hard work goes into this. 👏👏

The Breastfeeding Alliance, First 1001 Days National Children's Bureau and others in the sector had called Start for Life funding to be extended in 2025-26. The government listened and has confirmed that £18.5 million will be allocated to breastfeeding support this year.

The Spending Review brought good news on schools & early intervention, but we urge the government to hold true to promises to raise the healthiest generation of children, tackle child poverty & give children the best start in life. Our reaction in full: buff.ly/sNPpsja
