Blain Higgs is getting roasted by David Cochrane on CBC Power and Politics. Higgs looks like a deer in the headlines, as he babbles out pure nonsense and lies.

Seems 'big agriculture' is joining 'big oil' to mislead people about the causes and solutions to climate heating.

This is entirely due to Ontario government decisions.

Not surprising that on today's (April 18) Power & Politics James Moore contorted himself to avoid calling his former colleague Pierre Poilievre a liar, as other panelists, essentially, did over Poilievre's lies about the fledgling pharmacare program. If Moore can't be honest himself,

If the reaction of the acolytes of the wealthy on X is an indication, it seems it wouldn't matter how slight of an increase in taxation on the wealthiest of the wealthiest, it would generate outrage and wild claims of financial disaster.

That being the case, I suggest

By definition, capital gains is money earned that you didn’t have to work for. Why is it taxed less than money you work for?

Just a thanks to Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh. We got our notice today from Sun Life about our dental coverage starting May 1st. Very welcomed. Carbon rebate came, too. And, we’re finishing up our 2023 taxes. We earned a little so we’re paying little more. All within

I'm not sure what the exact figures are, but when the income and wealth of people gets above a certain point, they become a drain on the economy and a barrier to improving the well-being of 'regular' people.

Just stating the obvious, if you're adversely affected to any significant degree by the change in the capital gains tax it's because you are one of the wealthiest people in Canada by a vast measure.

Moreover, you entitled rentier, you're still paying less capital gains than you

Listening to today's budget coverage on Power & Politics. I find unfortunate that a prevailing sentiment is that government spending is inherently 'bad' and less spending is 'good.' None of the benefits that the 'spend less' worshippers promise will come with balanced budgets or low/no

If you think increasing public spending and increasing taxes on the wealthiest will harm Canadians or the Canadian economy, you haven't been paying attention to either history or the experiences of countries equivalent to Canada.
