One year ago, construction crews unburied the SR 99 tunnel's northbound on-ramp near the stadiums. It had been built and then buried for several years while SR 99 bypass traffic drove over top of it.

We are investigating a leak coming from above the southbound lanes of the SR 99 tunnel, it is still safe to travel through. Monthly maintenance is scheduled for this direction at 10 p.m. tonight. We will use this closure to determine next steps with our contractor.

The SB SR 99 tunnel is open after an overnight maintenance closure. Our maintenance crews were able to create a temporary fix for the leak above the roadway. Our contractor will be out over the next week to make a permanent repair.

The weekend will be beautiful & the draw to go out & enjoy it will be high. We've adjusted our signs to encourage people to continue what we're doing. Limit non-essential travel & find ways close to home to enjoy the sun while keeping us all safe & healthy.

Good morning. This is National Work Zone Awareness Week. Please take a minute to read Jason Pratt's story then do your part to keep all road workers safe. Slow down, stay focused and give them room. wsdotblog.blogspot.com/2020/04/nation… #GiveEmABrake #SlowDown #MoveOver

Emergency maintenance - like our WSDOT Tacoma bridge crew fixing a large pothole on the SR 507 Deschutes bridge - has been vital in keeping essential travel safe. The crew used protective gear to respond safely and quickly. Nice work team! #wsdotheroes

Crews have begun the final stage of filling Seattle's old Battery Street Tunnel. They are pouring low-density cellular concrete, a kind of "concrete meringue" that protects utilities but could still be dug through in the future. Learn more: wsdotblog.blogspot.com/2020/07/final-…
