Don’t tweet much these days, but Lance Reddick… fuck. Seemed the coolest dude, and I bloody loved Cedric Daniels. One of the best characters, from the very best show of them all. 🥺

Legit my highlight of the weekend. Disillusioned with the Prem? Pop down to your local side next Sat. Terracing, cheap tix, drink while you watch, decent banter, blood ‘n thunder challenges, minimal playacting. Done 15+ homes/2 aways this season. So much fun. Go. Try it. Please.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but England would have strolled this Ashes series with a 6-7-8 of Stokes, Foakes and Woakes.

Had the best time on Saturday night reading Modern Dating, Somer and Wind from my new poetry book 'life. love. other.' at Waterstones Bristol in Bristol. Massive thanks to Edouard and co for having me. A career, and life, highlight.

Arrived today. Well done Ben Wilson for being braver than I have been so far, in actually writing poetry, and then beyond that, getting it published!

Mary Earps repelling that pen then waving her opponents upfield with repeated yells of “fuck offffff” deserves immediate Sports Personality of the Year contention. Inject this energy into my veins, please. 💉

Well played Spain. Better side by virtue of a hermetically sealed low block. Still love this team though - especially Mary Earps. Get stocking her kit, Nike. It’s long past time. 🦁🦁🦁

Some photos from the front row of the home end at Luton. Zero attacking urgency from Palace until it was too late. Olise goal astonishing. Andros came over to console Eze when down - good man. Big problems afoot at #cpfc though. Summer ‘recruitment’ laughable, and it’s showing.

That may have to be it for Roy, sadly. Zero urgency (as at Luton), odd like-for-like subs when 0-1 down. BUT the board doesn’t get a free pass. No attempt to replace Zaha, no back-up LB, no upgrade up top, injuries a feeble excuse at this level. Build a squad of 22-25, not 16.

Most satisfying bit of trivia of the night: The 326th seat to be declared for Labour, confirming an absolute majority, was Jacob Rees-Mogg’s loss. #GE24

Not as despondent as most. Maybe it’s age. Seen bigger-name England managers fail (spectacularly!) with far better sets of players, e.g. the Steve & Frank generation. At least it wasn’t on pens. And fuck, Spain are so so good. Best team won it. Fair play. Olmo = outrageous.

Properly made up to see the reigning Paulton Rovers Player of the Year join a league club (alongside Palace loanee Joe Whitworth, no less). Good luck, frankie phillips - you deserve this.
