I had a fantastic time in Glasgow today attending and speaking at the Scottish Government DDaT leadership Summit 2024. Great energy in the room and conversations all day!

This is why I’m not a huge fan of the word “implementation” in relation to EPRs - i imagine a box ticked somewhere that says “implemented ✅”.

This is something that is costing us £67 billion even with the cancellation.

Government is not a business and we are not its customers. Seeing the public as a customer base implies that we can choose through consumer actions, but the reality is that we choose through democratic processes that rely on effective governance.
