It's so rare to go from fan to colleague to friend with someone, but i am so, so grateful that was the trajectory of my relationship with kateyrich. She's simply one of the best to ever do it and is completely irreplaceable. Will never forgive Condé for fumbling the bag here

Long before I joined the team, Katey was one of my favorite voices to read and listen to at VF. Getting the privilege of working with her has only deepened my total adoration for who she is as an editor and person. This is an unimaginable, nonsensical decision by Condé.

I am INCENSED. No one has given more to Vanity Fair in the past decade than the great, brilliant, passionate Katey Rich. Not only did she hire me but she was part of a microscopic team that turned VF.com from essentially a blog into a media powerhouse.

These proposed layoffs are all clumsy and cruel and shortsighted. Katey has been a tireless and invaluable coworker. collaborator, and friend over our decade at the company together. Not sure what shape VF will take without her, but it is undoubtedly a worse one.

Katey is the heart of Little Gold Men and the incredibly supportive, smart, and thoughtful editor behind all my work these past few years. She’s a major reason I joined VF in the first place and I struggle to imagine what it will look like without her.
