Having gone through the Consideration Stage, the Women (Amendment) Bill has been deemed rejected. Despite the efforts and discussions put into this legislative proposal, the bill did not secure the necessary support and is therefore rejected.

The Speakers Ruling on the Consideration Stage of the Women's (Amendment) Bill, 2024. The Speaker during his deliberations National Assembly Of The Republic of The Gambia said the Assembly cannot be engaged in such a futile exercise, as to allow the Bill to proceed to Third Reading without its clauses.
