Lots of Woodcraft Folk 🌍 fun this week for the Smiley Carrot Elfins ...with a room-sized parachute! 😀🪂😀

Recent co-operative discussions on what makes a good badge design informed our own badge making & Banbury Woodcraft’s vote for the Woodcraft Folk 🌍 membership badge 2023 (woodcraft.org.uk/activity/membe…).

Our recent Elfins session involved creating a plastic-free seascape …out of paper! Developing an appreciation of nature and the environment. Then playing lots of games. 😀 #BigIdeasThroughFun

Another fab district camp. Rainy setting-up rewarded with fun, fireside storytelling, moving-up ceremonies, walking, nature discussions, crafting, yurt merrymooting, singing, wide-gaming, tent-sharing, bun-toasting, woodland time, clan cooperating & friend-making togetherness.

We’re excited to have restarted our Venturer group. Great opportunity for 13-15 year-olds of #Banbury to have fun & make friends. Already plenty of interest in Venturer Camp later in 2023. Get in touch via [email protected].

Fun Elfin session this week at #Banbury Bridge Street Community Garden. We played games, painted, tended our raised bed, enjoyed oat hot choc, vegan biscuits & each other’s company. #ItsFunOutdoors #BigIdeasThroughFun

#Banbury #Venturers are choosing a new name! Other V names we like include Buttercups, 3 Toed Sloths, Kestrals, Urban Peace Pandas, Sludgeworms, Woodpines, Supernatural Squirrels & Green Leaf. Upcoming decision an opportunity for lively debate, lobbying & co-operative consensus!

#Banbury Woodies like getting out in nature. We’ve enjoyed our annual bluebell walk. A new woodland over in Northamptonshire, but the same load of outdoor fun & woodland games.

Last night we were excited to meet some of the Woodies who we’ll be camping with at Woodcraft Folk 🌍’s Venturer Camp this summer. Less than two months to go to Venturer Camp

Looking forward to our whole District meeting this coming weekend. Some younger #Banbury Woodies are already proposing that "Riding magic airbeds" is on the agenda when we discuss future camp planning!

#Banbury Venturers and Pioneers have enjoyed lots of outdoor Woodcraft Folk 🌍 groupnights recently. Last week's bushcraft session included firelighting, learning new knots, campfire doughnuts and hot chocolate. Yummy! Yummy!

We enjoyed end-of-term energetic games recently, including capture the flag & chaos tag. The end of school year signals change for many, especially Pioneers approaching secondary school. We return after the summer, providing a stable & supportive peer group for our young members.

Our recent Banbury Woodcraft groupnight sessions have involved classic tower construction tasks. Fun opportunities to challenge each other, compete, co-operate and build friendships whilst creating wonderful towers! #BigIdeasThroughFun #FunandFriendship

October has proved a nice time of year for our #Venturers and #Pioneers to enjoy a night-hike on the edge of #Banbury. We found that you can see (and hear) more at night-time. Lots of interest for a longer night-hike at our next camp. #FunInTheOudoors

Banbury Woodcraft Venturers had fun with a blind tin cooking challenge. Lucky dip ingredients promoted heated discussion and cooperation amongst our teenagers. Results were creative debate, “interesting” food combinations, inventive new tastes, and a unique dining experience!

Our Woodcraft Folk 🌍 Elfins have enjoyed restarting groupnights in the new year. Kayin (our Smiley Carrot Elfins mascot) has also enjoyed getting out and about in #Banbury; enjoying the fresh air and looking forward to new adventures in 2024. #SmileyCarrots

We love camping at Woodcraft Folk and look forward to our upcoming district camp. The whole Banbury district gets together; all ages helping their clans make it a success, taking part and having fun. Not long now!
