The Balmorhea State Park pool has reopened. The pool bathrooms are also open, but the bathhouse showers will not be available until further notice. The campground and San Solomon Courts are still under renovation.

Please note that Balmorhea State Park has almost reached day-use capacity for today. If you would like to purchase one of the remaining day-use passes for today or check for availability, you may do so online at: texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com.

Balmorhea State Park. 5/3/19. In preparation for the annual pool cleaning, the gate that drains the pool became inoperable in the open position. Due to the danger this poses to swimmers and divers, the pool must be closed until the gate is repaired.

5/8/19 Pool closure update: TPWD is coordinating installation of a metal plate over the water release gate. This would ensure the safety of swimmers and divers and enable the reopening of the pool. We do not know how long this will take, but we will post updates as we learn more.

5/20/19 We are happy to announce that the contractors have made good progress on the pool gate repairs at Balmorhea State Park and we will be able to reopen the pool this Saturday, 5/25.

5/23/19 Thanks to the quick work of our excellent contractors, the pool gate has been repaired and the Balmorhea State Park pool will reopen for normal hours, starting today.

Balmorhea SP will close Sept. 3, 2019 for a major project to replace the septic system. This project includes the replacement of the existing septic system, as well as the service lines connecting the facilities to the new septic field, and will run through Spring 2020.
