Potato Olympics kept things fun, memorable, and relevant after STAAR testing. Students learned how to calculate the mean/average of a data set, which was so helpful in keeping the competition fair with various team sizes🤍#RISDBeTheOne #5thGrade

Dividing fractions at #RISDIgnite… I taught a few, then these 6th graders asked to take turns teaching the class. Love their willingness to take initiative & TEACH because they’re finally feeling confident in math🤍 Everyone in the room had a turn at the board. #RISDBeTheOne

Watching their number sense come up in 1 class period was the best. You’d never guess these are tier 3 kids completing more than what was assigned because “math is fun and I finally get it”. These are the moments that make teaching a JOY🤍 #RISDBeTheOne #RISDIgnite #6thGrade
