Themis member Kent Gummert of Lederer Weston Craig recently tried a civil case before a jury in Dallas County, IA. Under full COVID protocols with all persons in the courtroom wearing masks, the plaintiff asked for $60,000 in closing arguments, but the jury returned a $12,400 verdict.1/2
On this Memorial Day, we honor Hawkeye Football's 1939 Heisman winner Nile Kinnick. Many Heisman winners served their nation, but Kinnick was the only winner to die in service. A Navy pilot, he lost his life during an emergency landing while on a routine training flight in 1943.
