Today we pause in honor of Keith Lemmons from Bureau of Land Management- Nevada. Keith lost his life fighting the #MoundHouseFire near Carson City, NV on August 27, 1983. BLM Nevada developed the Mound House Staff Ride to put participants in the shoes of decision makers to make improvements for the future.

Our fallen are #NeverForgotten. On August 29, 2022, Darryl Sackmann, an administratively determined (AD) employee for the Great Basin Cache National Interagency Fire Center, passed away from a heart attack while returning from a supply delivery to the #FourCornersFire near Cascade, ID.

Wildfire management is not just about fighting fire. For #NationalWildlifeDay, we'd like to show that it's also about rehabilitating burned areas. Wildland firefighting aircraft are on the move today around Ramp Services at NIFC & the Boise Airtanker Base. Lead planes, airtankers, smokejumper aircraft, & air attack have been pre-positioned and supporting nearby wildfires in Idaho.

The ramp National Interagency Fire Center is a busy place during peak fire activity.
